CEN was created as a SAVE Energy Agency in 1997 and has participated in a number of EU sustainable energy projects, including Interreg and Intelligent Energy Europe. It is a not-for-profit company and has 49 staff. CEN is funded by the EU, Energy Saving Trust and local authorities. CEN’s main areas of work are energy efficiency and renewable energy issues.
