About London

London is Europe’s largest city economy. Work, tourism, education, history, and culture attract people to visit and live in London. It is ethnically very diverse with 40% of the population being non-white British. It will host the 2012 Olympics, which is a major development impacting on travel. The population of London stands at approximately 7.2 million, making it the most populous city in the EU.

The city of London is divided by The River Thames. The North and South sides of the Thames are widely accessible at various locations down the length of the river, by a number bridges and tunnels.
