Granada is one of the main cities of the South-East of Andalucía, an Autonomous community of the south of Spain. Due to its important historical legacy, Granada has become an important tourist and student centre resulting in 80% of employment generated in the services sector.

There is a growth of metropolitan dynamism. Inhabitants tend to live in the surrounding areas and work or study at the city centre leading to an increase of daily car commuters and traffic congestion.
